p53 PolymorphismsForewordSeveral polymorphims have been identified in the TP53 gene. Some of them have been analyzed on a large scale population and their distribution in the human population is well known (Codon 72 (Arg/Pro), the duplication of 16pb in intron 3 and the intron 6 G/A SNP). Other polymorphisms have been described rarely and their signification remain to be analyzed. Before using any of these polymorphisms for clinical studies, it is strongly suggested to check their frequency in a normal population. Very rare polymorphisms or polymorphisms described only in a single publication are not listed here.
